What these prices mean
Each daily figure is the median of the latest accepted community observation for each station and fuel on that day, after the snapshot's outlier filters. The median is the middle observation when prices are sorted. It is not a price quoted by every station or a statistically representative national survey.
A petrol or diesel median is published only when at least three station observations remain after filtering. “No published median” means a value is unavailable, including when the sample is too small. It does not mean that fuel is free or unavailable at stations.
The sample sizes shown are station observations for each fuel. A station reporting both petrol and diesel can appear in both samples, so these counts cannot be added together to count unique stations or individual submissions.
Only completed observation dates are included here. The current reporting day is excluded, checking both UTC and Dublin dates to avoid partial days around midnight. Snapshot dates follow the source's reporting-day boundaries; page dates and update times use Dublin time. Northern Ireland's sterling prices, heating oil, green diesel and EV charging are excluded from these euro pump-price medians.
Reports can contain mistakes, and a forecourt may change its prices after a report. These figures describe the dates shown, not guaranteed current prices. Check the individual report date on the map and confirm the price at the pump before filling up.
